Methodology

The Salt Lake City branch of the Crescent Electric Supply Company (CESC) wanted to increase its total number of deliveries while reducing the average amount of time for each fulfillment. Management also desired the ability to track total mileage, costs per mile, costs per delivery, and unauthorized stops by delivery personnel. The company initiated a 30 day pilot program that utilized the GPS Insight fleet tracking application to monitor CESC Salt Lake City's 5 truck fleet. The application allowed management to observe route decisions, unauthorized stops, and vehicle maintenance.
